for years I was in the box
they put me in
now I'm in another
that talking box
given centre stage
in the box
where you sit and consume
packaged dins and dinners
as thousands talk at once
or bellow through
megabuck megaphones
but finding me
may mean finding how
to make the chatterbox
talk for you
not at you
sharing not selling
telling stories
not lies.

Southwark Hour programme 2: spontaneous poem
This poem relates to discussions about access to video and television for people normally excluded, so that people could talk to each other via mass media.
